Slayer Guide

General Information

This guide provides useful information, tips, and answers to frequently asked questions about Slayer tasks.

  • To find the Slayer master, type ::slayer and talk to Duradel to get a task. Duradel is the only slayer master and can provide tasks both in and out of the wilderness.
  • From 1-65, you receive normal Slayer tasks, which are slower XP-wise. (400 Slayer points per task)
  • From 65-85, you receive hard tasks, including Bloodvelds, Hellhounds, and others that grant faster XP since you can usually barrage or burst them using Ancient spells. (700 Slayer points per task)
  • From 85-99, you receive elite (boss) tasks, which include most bosses. These are slower but have good rewards. (1,250 Slayer points per task)

Slayer Store

It is recommended to save your Slayer points and avoid extending tasks early on to accumulate points faster.

You will want to save up for:

  • Salve amulet and both upgrades
  • Slayer helm and its imbue scroll
  • Arclight

These items are costly in terms of points.

  • Salve amulet (i) is for melee (combine salve + upgrade scroll).
  • Salve amulet (i) + Tarn's diary increases stats for Ranged and Magic.
  • Salve amulet increases damage against undead NPCs (e.g., Vorkath).

Instance Hopping in Dungeons

At Catacombs, Iorwerth, and Taverley dungeons, you can use ::hop to switch instances if the NPC you want to kill is already taken.

Tasks Commonly Asked About

  • Ents: Found in the Wilderness. Fastest route is using the tree at ::home to teleport to Corporeal Beast, then run east.
  • Wild dogs: Requires 34 Woodcutting. Use the tree at ::home to teleport to Brimhaven Dungeon, run west, cut the vine, and they are there.
  • Green dragons: Located in Brimhaven Dungeon. Cut through the first vine, then cut the vine to the north, run around to the first set of stairs, and run south/east to find baby green dragons.
  • Magic axes: Found in Taverley Dungeon, or bring a lockpick to access their hut north of the Wilderness Resource Area (chance for Larran's keys and more AFK).
  • Scorpions: Located in Taverley Dungeon.

Recommended Block List

Blocking tasks is largely personal preference, but dragon tasks are almost universally blocked due to being slow and unrewarding.

Dragons to block:

  • Steel
  • Iron
  • Mithril
  • Red
  • Bronze

Exceptions:

  • Do not block Blue/Black dragons because you can kill Vorkath on Blue Dragon tasks as well as its elite task. Vorkath drops superior bones (great for 99 Prayer or selling on ::tp).
  • Do not block King Black Dragon (KBD) either, as it is relatively AFK and offers decent rewards.
