Phantom Muspah
Muspah Boss Guide
Muspah can be a challenging boss at first, but once you learn the mechanics, it becomes much easier to handle.
How to Get There
Use the tree at ::home
and teleport to Phantom Muspah then enter the cave to start the fight.
Preparing for the Fight
To kill Muspah efficiently, it’s highly recommended to have a Scythe of Vitur.
This fight can be done in welfare gear, but it is far smoother with higher-tier equipment. The kills will take a long time without a scythe and isn't really worthwhile as there are no big ticket items (i.e. items worth 1b+)

The Fight
Muspah alternates between melee and ranged forms, roughly every 80–100 damage dealt.
- His color indicates which attack style he is using:
- Green: Ranged
- Red: Melee
- Blue: Magic (special attack only)
In addition to standard attacks, Muspah uses several special mechanics.
Basic Attacks
- Ranged: Fires projectiles in green form.

- Melee: Strikes in close range while in red form.

- Magic: Rare but powerful magic attack, signaled by a blue orb that Muspah charges.

- Spikes: Muspah summons spikes from the ground. Keep moving to avoid taking damage. These happen randomly, but also every time Muspah changes form.
Muspah Special Attacks
Lightning Clouds
- Muspah teleports rapidly around the arena.
- You can use ranged or magic attacks to hit him during this phase or simply wait until he stops teleporting.
- After finishing, Muspah always reappears at the northeast corner of the arena.
Homing Spikes
- Muspah slams the ground, summoning 1–4 spikes that slowly chase you for ~20 seconds.
- Keep moving until they disappear.
Tip: You can trap homing spikes behind static spikes if you’re lucky with placement.
Final Phase
When Muspah drops below 127 health:
- He teleports to the center of the room and unleashes a shockwave.
- Avoid the shockwave by standing behind a spike.
He then activates a prayer shield (health bar turns blue) and attacks with ranged.
- Use Smite to drain his shield. You should flick between smite and prayer to avoid damage but use smite to lower the prayer shield.
- Enchanted sapphire bolts help deplete the shield faster too.
Once the shield is gone, Muspah returns to his ranged form and spawns numerous spikes until he dies.
Vengeance Skip
You can skip the final prayer shield phase (highly recommended):
- Ensure you are overhealed as Muspah drops below 127 HP.
- Use Vengeance and allow the shockwave to hit you.
- If you deal enough damage with Vengeance + follow-up attacks, you can kill Muspah without depleting the prayer shield.
See the below video for an example of a kill and the prayer skip.
