Skotizo Guide

Skotizo is a demi-boss located in the Catacombs of Kourend, offering a challenging solo PvM experience with decent rewards. This guide covers how to access Skotizo, recommended gear, and fight mechanics.

How to Get There

1. Use the teleport tree at ::home.
2. Select the Catacombs teleport.
3. You will arrive at the altar. Use a Dark Totem on the altar to begin the fight.

Note: You can obtain Dark Totem pieces by killing monsters within the Catacombs.

Gear Recommendations

Best in Slot:

• Scythe of Vitur – Provides the highest DPS for melee combat. You will want to bring an emberlight in case 2/3+ altars are activated as the emberlight and arclight can 1 hit altars.

Budget Setup:

• Arclight or Emberlight – Highly effective against Skotizo due to its demon classification.
• Wear melee gear with good Strength and Prayer bonuses. You can use void if you want to downgrade, however this will lead to slower kill times.

The Fight

• When you are outside melee distance, Skotizo exclusively uses magic attacks.
• If in melee range, use the following prayer strategy:
  • Pray Melee by default.
  • When you see a magic attack animation, quickly switch to Protect from Magic.
• Skotizo periodically spawns minions – you can ignore them, as they deal very little damage.

Altars

• There are 4 dark altars positioned North, East, South, and West. When activated, they reduce your damage output.
  • You can kill them everytime they become activate, but it's only really needed to kill these altars if 2+ or more are active.
  • You can instantly destroy an altar by hitting it once with an Arclight or Emberlight.

Slayer Notes

• Skotizo counts as a Black Demon for Slayer tasks.
