Venenatis & Spindel Guide

Venenatis and Spindel are spider-themed bosses found in the Wilderness. While Spindel is a safer option, Venenatis offers better loot but comes with increased risk due to its location in a multi-combat zone.

Overview

  • Venenatis offers better loot than Spindel but is located in a dangerous multi-zone Wilderness area.
    • It is highly recommended to fight Venenatis in a group due to her mechanics and PK risk.
  • Spindel is a safer solo option and is also available in the Donator Zone (DI) for Warlord-rank players.

How to Get There

Venenatis

  • Use the teleport command ::deepwild, then run south-west briefly to find the cave entrance.

Spindel (Donator Zone – DI)

  • Requires Warlord rank.
  • You can:
    • Create a private instance for 1B GP (2 days), or
    • Use the free version, which is public and may be busy.

Gear Recommendations

Note: You can wear Aranea Boots to completely avoid damage from Venenatis' web attack, significantly simplifying the fight.

With the higher tier gear for ::di area, you can essentially just ignore the spiderlings because you can regear after every kill.

The Fight

The fight against Venenatis and Spindel is relatively straightforward, but Venenatis in particular can be very punishing if mechanics are ignored.

Attack Styles

Venenatis uses all three combat styles:

  • Melee Attack: Charges or lunges toward the player.
  • Ranged Attack: Fires green projectiles.
  • Magic Attack: Shoots sticky web-like projectiles at the target.

Special Attacks

  • Sticky Web:
    • Sends a white-blue web at the player's location.
    • Expands into a 7x5 AoE zone.
    • Standing in the web causes:
      • Rapid 3 damage ticks
      • Prayer drain by 3
      • Run energy loss by 10
    • Wearing Aranea Boots prevents all web damage.
  • Spiderlings:
    • Venenatis will occasionally summon spiderlings to assist her.
    • Effects of spiderlings:
      • Drain prayer on every hit (regardless of protection)
      • Increase Venenatis’ damage output
      • Allow her to hit through protection prayers
      • Reduce Thrall damage while active
    • It is recommended to clear these quickly using:
      • Blowpipe
      • Darts or knives
      • Chinchompas

Notes

  • Always bring escape options and stay alert for PKers in the Wilderness.
  • Venenatis is best tackled in a team due to her area and mechanics.
  • Spindel offers similar mechanics in a less risky, single-zone setup.
  • DI makes Spindel much easier and safer if you have access.
