Book of the Dead

The Book of the Dead is a powerful item used to cast thrall-summoning spells from the Arceuus Spellbook. Thralls are passive minions that automatically attack your target, making this item incredibly useful in PvM, especially for boss fights.

How to Obtain

The Book of the Dead is obtained as a drop from Xamphur or purchased from other players.

What It Does

Unlocks the ability to summon thralls and to use the Arceuus Spellbook

Thralls attack your enemies automatically for passive damage.

You must be on the Arceuus Spellbook to use thrall-summoning spells.

Extending Thrall Duration

Normally, thralls last for roughly 60 seconds. You can extend their duration to roughly (2.5 minutes) by sacrificing extra copies of the book.

How to sacrifice a book

To sacrifice a book of the dead, teleport to ::home and use the book on the Dark Altar at home.

Duration Upgrade Costs

If you received your first book as a drop from Xamphur:

• You only need to sacrifice 1 additional book to extend the duration to roughly 2.5 minutes.
• To summon thralls, you must have a book of the dead in your inventory.

If you purchased your book(s) and did not receive it as drop from Xamphur:

• You will need to sacrifice a total of 2 books
• To summon thralls, you must have a book of the dead in your inventory.
